Eamon had his hair transplant surgery at the beginning of February in Poland with Dr. Borejsza.

Almost four months later, he is giving us some updates on how his hair regrowth is going and how he feels about having decided to get a hair transplant.

"Hi again, it's now the end of May and it's a little over three months since I've have my transplant surgery. Things are going very well. The numbness is well down, so I've about 90% of the feeling back in my scalp. My own original hair that wasn't transplanted has fully grown back now and along with it, some new hair as well. The front and sides have filled in nicely but the crown is still a little sparse, but it definitely has a lot more hair than I had before the operation. I’ve been told that full growth can take up to a year, but I'm doing very well this far.

One thing I have noticed is that I am getting a few spots or pimples on my scalp that I never got before. They arrive overnight and grow very quick then either pop or fade away in a day or so. I don't know what it is, but it's not really something I'm annoyed about.

Also, I ran out of the pH Balanced shampoo I was given in Poland and I used a normal shampoo and it stung like hell, so I've since bought two more bottles of the stuff I got in the clinic and now the stinging is gone. I tried a baby shampoo a few times and it was better than the normal ones, but it too stung a bit, so I suggest you buy a few bottles of the recommended shampoo in Poland if you are living in the UK or Ireland where it's not available. You can also get it on the Internet.

This is how my head looks now, almost four months after my treatment.

On a day to day basis, I'm getting some strange looks from people I've not seen since the surgery who notice something different about me but can't tell what it is until I point out the hair, then their reaction is priceless. They say stuff like, "Oh my God your hair is growing back... you can really see it", so that's very nice to hear.

That said, I've also had a few snide remarks from people about being too vain and trying to cheat the ageing process, but those kinda people are not ones I tolerate so their words and opinions mean absolutely nothing to me. My transplant was my choice and I did it for me. If I had crooked teeth, I'd have had braces fitted, which I equate to a hair transplant. I had something wrong that a procedure would help fix, so I chose to have it... simple as that.

I cannot stress enough how overjoyed I am that I went through with the transplant.

It's really something for me to touch my head and feel all the new hair sprouting up. I did have some reservations in the days before the surgery as to whether I should get it done or not, but now, I'm so glad I did. If you are on the fence about it, don't be, just do it. The 4-6 weeks of recovery and slight discomfort will fade away really quickly and when you get to where I am today, you'll honestly be glad you did it.
