Specialty: Breast surgeries and microsurgery
Dr. Vatlak is a Plastic Surgeon at ISCARE Clinic.
What is your experience with international patients?
I have been working in ISCARE since 2014. The most of the clients are foreigners (80%) from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, USA or Italy. The cooperation with the clients is on a high level also due to the team of coordinators.
What do you love about your job?
As far as the spectrum of surgeries is concerned, plastic surgery offers a very wide range of them. I like the creativity - in some cases there exists a couple of possible solutions (for example, by soft tissue defect) which gives me the option to make the best decision. Especially the complicated cases (whether it is a large defect or asymmetry by the aesthetic surgeries) mean a challenge for me to solve it in the best way.
Why do you think international patients come to you?
Foreign clients contact our clinic mostly due to the positive recommendations, which is always the best honour for us.
Can you tell us about a memorable treatment with which you helped to improve a patient's life?
The patient case I am most fond is the case of the 2/year old child to whom I replanted the amputated hand. I am also proud of the large defects coverage by transferring the tissue lobes using the microsurgical technique (after neuro- or orthopedic surgery). Also breast reconstructions after unsuccessful interventions at other clinics.
Dr. Vatlak earned his medical degree from Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, Faculty of Medicine in Slovakia in 2003. He specialised in the field of general surgery for several years before moving to a plastic surgery specialty in 2011. He has continued his professional education by attending practical trainings in the USA, Czech Republic, Taiwan, France and Germany.
He is a member of multiple organisations including the International Confederation of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (IPRAS) as well as the Community of Plastic Surgeons and Community of Aesthetic Medicine within the Czech Medical Chamber. He specialises in breast surgeries, particularly breast augmentation, breast reduction and breast lift.
