Kardiolita Hospital was first established in 1998 and has facilities in the capital of Vilnius, Lithuania’s second largest city, Kaunas, and, most recently, Šiauliai (a clinic acquired in 2017). The multi-disciplinary hospital employs over 400 doctors between the three locations and offers services in 45 medical specialities, from diagnostics to conservative treatments to inpatient and outpatient surgeries. Kardiolita was the first medical institution in the Baltic states and Eastern Europe to receive accreditation from the Joint Commission International (JCI). JCI is a globally recognized certification system that signifies the highest international industry standards have been met in structure, equipment, infrastructure, environment, services, personnel, and management. Recognizing the rise in Lithuania’s popularity as a medical tourism destination, Kardiolita expanded their aesthetic-related services and opened their new Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery Center in 2017.
Kardiolita has long-standing experience with international patients and welcomes over 2000 per year with a majority of these patients going to the locations in Vilnius and Kaunas. Their mission is to provide “personalized care of outstanding quality that makes a difference to the patients’ hospital experience.” To this end, they provide all-inclusive services, not only scheduling the medical treatment but also assisting with travel and accommodation arrangements. Their wards have varying room sizes to allow for a companion to stay with you during your treatment if you wish. With modern diagnostic and treatment equipment, virtually no waiting times, 0% MRSA infection rate (compared to 8%+ in the UK and Europe), affordably priced full service packages, close relationships with international medical insurance providers and its geographical location, Kardiolita offers outstanding options for patients.

Dr. Kazanavicius is a Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist at Kardiolita Hospital.
What is your experience with international patients?
I am working with international patients for 7-8 years. I worked in Latvia for 6 years, where I operated on patients from Eastern and Western Europe. I have worked here in Lithuania for 8 years, where we have lots of patients from Denmark and also patients come from Sweden, Norway, UK, and Spain.
What do you love about your job?
I love that my job is not routine, every patient is unique. To make the best changes to every person, you need different methods, ways of thinking and maybe a touch of an artistic feel.
Why do you think international patients come to you?
Price, professional attitude, results of former patients.
Can you tell us about a memorable treatment with which you helped to improve a patient's life?
I am really fond of some hard cases I had with two women patients. One had very deformed breasts, the other had severe chest deformities and very uneven breasts. Using implants and fat transfer I managed to make it even and natural. But the main thing is that both patients are extremely happy and satisfied.
