A breast capsulectomy is a procedure that is performed to address capsular contracture, a complication that may occur following breast implant surgery. Capsular contracture involves the formation of scar tissue around the breast implants, causing the breast implants to shift in such a way that it creates an unnatural appearance. A breast caspuslectomy may be performed when a client wishes to have breast implants removed or there is a desire for an alteration in the actual size of the breast implants. During a breast capsulectomy, the capsules of scar tissue are removed and any other changes can be made concerning breast implants. In some instances, no changes need to be made after the capsule has been removed as the implants return to a natural appearance. At Qunomedical we partner with highly skilled plastic surgeons from around the world to perform a breast capsulectomy. You can expect our partners to perform your procedure at a significant reduction as compared to the average cost in Australia, the United States, and the UK. You could save 80% on your expenses.

When considering your breast capsulectomy, the final cost will depend on your situation and personal needs. Finding the plastic surgeon who is right for you will be your decision. Choose from a wide selection of competent plastic surgeons who have received their training at esteemed medical schools in the United Kingdom and United States. These professionals belong to prestigious associations, and have been honored with awards for excellence.

How Does a Breast Capsulectomy Work?

The first step will be to administer local or general anesthetic during your breast capsulectomy. Your plastic surgeon will make an incision to remove your capsules. The incision can be made in the armpits, beneath your breasts, or around the areolas. The scar tissue will be removed. You may also under go implant removal and lift for your breasts or you may have new implants inserted at this time. Otherwise, your existing implants may be left alone. You can expect your outpatient surgery to last at least an hour. After a breast capsulectomy, you will need to go to the recovery room for an hour to an hour and a half. Following your surgery, you will have swelling and bruising. You may need to have fluid drained from your breasts immediately following your surgery. Expect to limit your physical activities for four to six weeks following your breast capsulectomy. You will be able to return to work within two weeks.

A breast capsulectomy is recommended for women who have experienced capsular contracture. It may also be performed when changes are being made to existing implants, whether they are being removed or you want to change the size of your implants.
