  • You will need to stop taking aspirin tablets, Clopidogrel tablets, Warfarin, or Heparin at least 5 days before the operation. If you are taking these medications, consult your doctor beforehand to ensure it’s safe to do so.
  • Don't use aspirin and B and E vitamins and other similar medications 1 week before operation.
  • If you drink alcohol, don't consume excess alcohol 2 days before the operation.
  • If you are allergic to any drugs, please inform your doctor during the consultation.
  • Do not smoke 24 hours before the operation if possible. Remember that smoking will extend the convalescence time.
  • Bring comfortable button-down or zippered shirts or sweatshirts so you do not pull anything over your head after the operation.
  • Wear comfortable clothing (sweatpants are suggested).
  • Do not use any gel or sprays before the operation.
  • Bring your passport with you to the hospital on the day of your operation.

Aftercare

  • Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.
  • Post-op care package provided for the first 5 to 7 days after surgery:
    • Sebamed shampoo for everyday use
    • Topical foam spray. Use before wash every day for 2 weeks. Use 20 minutes before washing hair with shampoo.
    • Antibiotic cream. For use on donor area. Use 1 time per day for 5 days.
    • Oral antibiotic medication. Dosage: 1 tablet 2 times per day for 5 days.
    • Anti-inflammatory/anti-edema/painkiller. Dosage: 1 tablet 2 times per day for 5 days.
    • Pain medication. Dosage: As needed if there is pain.
    • Hat, neck pillow, headband, and bag
  • Do not touch the transplanted area during the first night. You don’t need to wash your head that night. Avoid rubbing, scratching, and touching as much as possible for the first 2 weeks.
  • While outdoors, cover your head with the hat the clinic provides.
  • Sleep with your head elevated on 3 or 4 pillows to avoid rubbing or detaching any grafts. Sleep this way for the first 4 days to also help reduce swelling.
  • Avoid alcohol for the first 2 weeks. Alcohol is a cytotoxin that affect your healing.
  • Do not smoke for at least 4 weeks after the transplant as this can negatively affect your result and delay or interfere with the growth of the transplanted hair.
  • You can have your hair washed at the clinic if you stay an extra day after your treatment. Otherwise you will be taught how to wash your head at home by yourself.
  • Avoid touching, scratching or rubbing the transplanted area. The grafts take root in their new home and after day 10, should no longer be dislodged by accidental touch.
  • Avoid sun exposure on the scalp for at least 6 months. Sunburn may affect the pigmentation of skin and can also damage transplanted hair.
  • You can run or walk in the gym for the first 15 days after your transplant as long as you don't sweat too much. Don’t wipe your forehead as you may dislodge your hair grafts.
  • Most of your scabs/crusts should come off by day 6. If you still have scabs, then leave the shampoo on the transplanted area a little longer (10-15 minutes) to make scabs softer and wash a little more aggressively until scabs are gone (but don’t pick them off).
  • Can use skin moisturizer on the scalp if donor area is itchy.
  • You can resume all physical activities and sports after the first 1 month. Avoid close contact sports for 90 days.
  • You may see some pimple-like lesion called folliculitis. They behave like regular pimples and will usually subside but if you have more than 2-3, they are inflamed, or painful, contact doctor who can incise them for you.
  • You will shed the transplanted hair in weeks 2-4 and this is normal.
  • From week 4, you can wash your hair as normal and also cut, style, and dye your hair. Remember to only use scissors on the transplanted area for the first 6 months.

the service was brilliant...im 2 weeks into it and so far going to plan...

The pick up service was great...picked up from the airport and taken to the hotel...the hotel was not expecting my partner but was not a problem but she was always booked to come with me so I don't understand why there was confusion... Hotel was really nice...clean...the restaurant was great we had dinner both nights...the free breakfast was really good and as much as you like and loads of choice...the rooms were 5 star...we were picked up the next morning and taken to the center my partner waited all day for me and the staff she said were lovely to her...my treatment was explained fully to us both...i had lunch given to Me...the whole day was 8 hours hardly no pain...we were taken back to the hotel and picked up again the next morning to have a chat with the Dr and paid for 6 months of vitamins one month was free then taken to the airport...the service was brilliant...im 2 weeks into it and so far going to plan...my only thing I would say is the clinicians just talk and laugh amount themselves while the procedure is happening...i no they obviously don't talk English but is a bit of a downfall Good communication [Qunomedical]

If I’m honest i completely under estimated the experience, everything went smoothly and the communication has been great. The hardest decision for me was just making the booking in the first place! Thanks for everything.

Since booking the communication has been great, Daniel answered all my questions and had plenty of information. Day before you fly i got a message direct from the hospital confirming details and where you meet your driver etc, really helpfull and polite. It was handy as it was done on whatsapp too. Flew out with turkish airlines heathrow to istanbul, departures at Istanbul is quite a walk so bare that in mind. Signed up to the free wifi at the airport, its a bit of a lengthy process but if u stand still for couple minutes its much easier. Use mobile number and sends you a confirmation text. I let the guys know from the hospital i had landed and they replied within mintues to say driver is waiting, this was really good as they give you a pic of the driver too and they ask for yours so you know who to meet. My flight was also slightly delayed so it was nice to know they were on top of that. Met the driver, took me to the car which was nice clean and comfortable. Along with some water bottles to drink. The transfer from there is about 1 hour and 20 minutes to hotel, baring in mind i arrived about 7.15pm local time so hit quite bit of traffic. Hotel was nice (holiday inn), chilled and easy to check in. Staff were kind and polite, room was comfortable and clean, and food was good, couldn’t ask for more. If your worried about standing out like a saw thumb then don’t, because there were more than plenty of people around with bandages etc from hair transplants so it was normal and expected there. Next day i was picked up from hotel reception 7.45am, there were 3 others who shared mini bus with me to the clinic. When we arrived we was politely greeted into the moodist hospital, it was clean for sure. We were sat down for an introduction and the Dr throughly explained what was going to happen that day. Photos were taken and then we had to pay. From there we went into our own personal rooms with our own toilets, then introduced to the other staff who would be assisting the Dr. The new proposed hairline is drawn and your donor area for grafts are assessed. I had to ask for a little more natural rather than rounded and they were happy to do so, don’t be afraid

to ask. Local anaesthetic was painful as the needle is in your head, but after a short while it becomes very numb and there pain is very minor, however at times it does get worse and if you tell them they use more anaesthetic so do say. The bed was uncomfortable at times as they put a bit of pressure on your neck to carry out the procedure, the most uncomfortable part was the extraction. By the way......the blood, be prepared to see some as i wasn’t expecting to see that much and it was bit of a shock, but was told perfectly normal. You are there all day with a short lunch break, the food could be better, your not exactly hungry at this point but you’ve got to eat to keep the energy levels up. This could be improved a lot to make the day a bit better but your there for a hair transplant and not for food so you accept it. After lunch the implantation is relaxing at first but its long lasting and the last 30 mins starts to get a little more painful, but i was put off by the thought of more anaesthetic. The staff are great and want to crack on but i felt they should ask if your ok more often and check you are comfortable, or atleast give to a couple of minutes to stretch or get comfortable. Also they say not long left or last 15 mins but it drags on, would be better if they just give you a worst case time left so you can be prepared for pain or discomfort that bit more, or get more local anaesthetic. They are my only 2 suggestions to improve here. I appreciate there is a language barrier but if they just sent someone with good english in to check and translate, or offer a glass of water for the patient every 45-60mins or so that would make the experience a lot better and comfortable. After the procedure you are given a detailed booklet and medications etc. This is really helpful and well explained by the Dr. From there you go back to your hotel. Just treat this as your life manual as mush as possible! The first night sleep is awkward and surreal, You have to sleep a certain way and its not the greatest for your back but you need to do it. So far so good, im on day 9 and the guys at the hospital and Qunomedical are on whatsapp for questions to be answered and just a bit of aftercare. Plus my hair has really developed and healed too! If I’m honest i completely under estimated the experience, everything went smoothly and the communication has been great. The hardest decision for me was just making the booking in the first place! Thanks for everything. Daniel was really helpful and the guys have plenty of info to keep you satisfied. Easy communication and nice guy. Show more

All in all i think the whole process was organized brilliantly, the clinic was spotlessly clean and Kristian from Qunomedical was superb. I would and have recommended it to my friends.

Everything ran so smoothly. I found the taxi driver easy to find with all the contact on whatsapp. The hotel was lovely and trips to and from the clinic was well planned and always on time. I was well talked through the procedure at the consultation by an English talking doctor and well looked after throughout. I found the check-up appointment the day after the procedure to be a bit hurried as i was lined up next to 3 other guys and quickly had my bandages changed and not a lot was said to me individually....apart from "that looks fine." But all in all i think the whole process was organized brilliantly, the clinic was spotlessly clean and Kristian from Qunomedical was superb. I would and have recommended it to my friends. I liked how i could ask any question beforehand & i would get an immediate answer no matter what i was asking. Kristian was very patient and understanding when i was getting confused over certain matters

Everything about the process was smooth and professional. The contact in the week leading up to my transplant was excellent and I was confident I knew the full itinerary of my trip. I would definitely recommend smile hair clinic and Qunomedical.

Everything about the process was smooth and professional. The contact in the week leading up to my transplant was excellent and I was confident I knew the full itinerary of my trip. The driver for the transfer was waiting for me at the airport meeting point. The transfer was prompt and the hotel was clean, and had all the amenities required. The staff through tour were professional, friendly and I was comforted by the knowledge of the surgeons who were running the clinic. The surgery was as expected and I am happy with the result. I would definitely recommend smile hair clinic and Qunomedical. The whole process was smooth and there was nothing I would change.
