About Dr. Gokay Bilgin
Dr. Gökay Bilgin is a hair transplant surgeon who attained his medical degree at Istanbul University-Cerrahpasa. He is one of the co-founders of Smile Hair Clinic and is a member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS).
He began his career with Medical Park Hospitals Group - one of Turkey’s most prestigious healthcare groups - before exploring aesthetic procedures and ultimately gaining a certificate in Medical Aesthetics and Hair Transplantation Training. Dr. Bilgin then joined Medicana Healthcare Group as a hair transplant surgeon, a short time after which he was promoted to Deputy Chief Physician. Then followed the founding of Smile Hair Clinic, where he continues to dedicate his experience to restoring hair; he has now completed over 4,000 transplants. Dr. Bilgin’s enthusiasm to progress his ability led him to complete various further training courses in medical aesthetics and hair transplantation, which has elevated his reputation to a level that draws in many international patients. Like the rest of his colleagues at Smile, he embraces the clinic’s ‘True Philosophy’, which encompasses their thorough methods of planning, hairline design and execution, as well as their commitment to innovation.
As a preferred method of graft extraction, he uses a micro-motor tool to precisely remove follicles one by one; this allows surgeons to extract more in less time. He opts for a sapphire FUE blade to then plant the grafts, which helps to do so with more accuracy.
