Why Choose Poland for an FUE Hair Transplant?

Poland’s private healthcare system has received significant investment in the past two decades from both international healthcare providers and the government. Poland now ranks among the top European providers for quality service and advanced medical technology, but have been able to retain lower prices since it’s not yet a member of the Eurozone.

This has made it an appealing destination to surrounding countries with over 155,000 international visitors going to Poland for medical reasons in 2016, according to the Institute of Research and Development of Medical Tourism. Poland has increasingly become a popular option for hair transplant surgery since you can still take advantage of lower prices than the UK or US and low-cost airlines have made getting there even easier.

What’s included in the cost of an FUE hair transplant in Poland?

Many clinics in Poland will charge per hair graft so the final price will depend on the amount of hair that is transplanted; however, some also provide a flat rate for a certain number of grafts. These rates might be for treatment only or also include your hotel and ground transfers.

You will be quoted a price based on your pictures, but keep in mind that this could change when you have your in-person consultation where the doctor can examine the texture and density of your hair more closely.

How do I get an FUE hair transplant in Poland fast and easily?

In Poland, many clinics only see one to three patients in a day so it’s a good idea to plan your appointment at least a few months in advance. More appointment dates will be available and you have a better chance of getting the date you want.

Once you send pictures of your head and the doctor provides an initial graft estimate and price quote, you can easily secure your appointment by paying the required deposit, usually by bank transfer.

How many times do I have to visit the doctor to have treatment?

Megasession hair transplants (where up to 5000 grafts are transplanted in one session) are more common in some countries. However, in Poland, many doctors prefer to transplant only up to 3000 grafts in one session. Generally speaking, this usually because the doctor is more involved in the procedure with the assistance of only 1 or 2 technicians. This makes it more likely that you will need to visit the doctor more than once if you have lost a lot of hair and have a large balding area. You will need to stay for about 3 days for each trip.

Do I need a visa to travel to Poland?

It will depend on the passport you hold. Those with a passport from an EU country can travel to Poland without a visa. US passport holders can enter Poland on a tourist visa. Always check with your government’s website for international travel information before you go.

What currency do they use in Poland?

Although Poland is part of the European Union, their national currency is the Polish złoty (zł) rather than the Euro. However, most clinics will provide their pricing in Euros and some clinics accept Euros for cash payments but it’s always good to double check before you travel.
