This blog post is part of a series of interviews with the people working at Qunomedical. Learn a bit more about our team and what goes on at our Berlin office!

Today we are pleased to introduce Julia, one of our Patient Managers. She makes sure our patients get the best possible treatment abroad and follows up on them throughout every step of their journey. Julia’s welcoming smile emanates trust and her friendly attitude makes it incredibly easy for you to share your stories with her. No wonder our patients feel in good hands whenever talking to her! When she is not taking best care of our patients, Julia plays handball, meets with friends and plans her next trip: Amsterdam!

Hello, Julia! Can you briefly introduce yourself?

Hi there! My name is Julia, I was born and raised in Germany but lived in Canada, Australia and the UK before moving back to my home country around 4 years ago. I studied Tourism Management for 3 years and grew up watching my parents running a hotel so I guess hospitality has always been a part of me.

What does a day in the life of a Patient Manager look like?

Our main focus at Qunomedical lies on our patients, so the first thing I do in the morning is contacting all the patients who are scheduled to travel on that day to make sure everything is going according to plans. During the day, I check incoming messages, I answer to calls and plan treatments for our patients by liaising with our partner clinics. We provide 24/7 service, so even when I am not in the office I check incoming messages and reply to any queries coming our way.

What does it take to be a Patient Manager at Qunomedical?

Well, soft skills are paramount in this position: you need to be empathetic, a good listener and also solution-oriented. It is important to always be there for our patients and make sure we look for the best possible outcome. I really enjoy helping other people and make them happy, I would definitely describe myself as a people person.

How do you like your job?

I really enjoy doing what I do. As I said, I love making other people happy and being a Patient Manager allows me to find the best possible care our patients look for and deserve. And once they are happy with the results and they thank you for what you have done, that’s all that matters at the end of the day.

Vielen Dank, Julia!
