Queen Mary Hospital is a historic institution in Hong Kong, dating back to the 1930s. Today it is a massive 27-story, 1,600-bed facility that is one of Hong Kong's most important and best-equipped public hospitals. It provides a wide array of medical services, from accident and emergency through bone marrow transplants, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery, oral/maxillofacial surgery, and rehabilitation. It is especially well known for world-class liver transplantation, and serves as the liver transplant center for all of Hong Kong. It is also the only heart, lung, and pediatric cardiac surgery center in Hong Kong. As a teaching hospital for the University of Hong Kong's schools of medicine and dentistry, it attracts some of the best doctors and most advanced technology in the region.
