South Korea’s KUIMS International Medical Service offers a wide range of services for patients from around the world. Founded in 2008, this university hospital is located in the capital city of Seoul and currently has 800 beds with 30 specialty centers. The interpreters at KUIMS can speak a wide variety of languages, including Chinese, Russian, Japanese, English, and, of course, Korean. KUIMS estimates that it helps around 14,000 international patients each year. This hospital is split into four main departments: the oriental hospital, the dental hospital, the medical hospital, and the integrative center. The integrative center is further split into three centers: the center for joint disease & rheumatism, the stroke center, and the Kyung Hee spine center. Patients can visit experts in various medical fields, including urology, radiology, vascular surgery, psychiatry, neurology, prosthetics, and orthodontics. People who want traditional Korean methods of treatment can get acupuncture and moxibustion done at this hospital as well. Just a few of the many awards KUIMS has received over the years include the International Business Award for Marketing from Korea Business Communications Association, the Medical Korea Global Healthcare Award for New Market Development from the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, and the Certificate of Appreciation in the field of Medical Tourism from the Korea Tourism Organization.
